Sunnyhaven Bedroom Three

The last of the bedrooms at Sunnyhaven was this sunny one! We used it as an office with a spare bed in it and when Harry arrived, as a nursery. We moved when he was only a few months old and we were running out of spare furniture so I decided to set this room up as a nursery, as we still had most of the furniture for this sitting unused.

Again, most of these items were from Trademe. The cot, Baby Natural bassinet and Tesori toybox were picked up second hand over the last few years. The toybox was originally a sand colour and Dad repainted it white for me and it was used in our nursery for both Rose and Harry. Rose is still using it now!

It is important not to overlook furniture that is the wrong colour, if it is a piece you really love and is a good price. If you are willing to put in the work, you can have quality furniture for less than the cost of mass produced equivalents. I have always preferred to have quality second hand items, to new cheaper items which don't last the distance.

The white star bedside table, chair and train cushion were borrowed from Harry's room and are from Tom Tom Jak in Mt Eden. The blanket is from Living Textiles and the star cushion is one of my favourites and came from Wallace Cotton a few years ago.

This was a first home buyers house and setting this room up as a nursery gave potential buyers the idea that this was a family home which they could grow into. :-)
